Terms and conditions
The practical terms of being a patient here, in plain English. Last updated October 2026.
Fenbury Acupuncture Clinic is a fictional practice, made to show what a clinic's website can include. A real clinic would adapt these terms to its own practice and take its own advice.
These terms apply to appointments at Fenbury Acupuncture Clinic, 41 Market Street, Fenbury, with Marcus Hale or Lena Ford. Booking an appointment means you accept them.
1. Booking
Book online, by phone or at reception. We confirm every booking by email or text, and send a reminder the day before.
We see patients aged 16 and over on their own. Younger patients need a parent or guardian to give consent and stay in the room throughout.
2. Cancelling, missed appointments and late arrival
- 24 hours' notice or more: no charge.
- Less than 24 hours' notice: half the appointment fee.
- Missed without notice: the full fee.
- Arriving late: we'll treat you for the time that's left so the next patient isn't kept waiting, and the full fee applies. If you're more than 15 minutes late we may need to rebook, which counts as a late cancellation.
We won't charge if your fertility clinic moves your treatment dates, and we use discretion for illness and emergencies. If we have to cancel, we'll tell you as early as we can and you won't be charged.
3. Fees and payment
Current fees are on our fees page. Pay by card or contactless at the end of each appointment. We don't sell packages or take payment in advance. If our fees change, we'll show the new fees on this website at least 30 days before they apply.
4. Consent
Before any treatment we explain what we suggest, why, and any common side effects, and ask for your consent, which we record in your notes. You can ask questions, decline any part of treatment, or ask us to stop at any time.
Please tell us about changes in your health or medication, and if you are or might be pregnant. We may ask you to see your GP before or alongside treatment.
5. Records and confidentiality
We keep clinical notes for every appointment, stored securely and treated as confidential. We share them only with your written consent, or where the law requires it or someone is at serious risk of harm. You can ask for a copy of your notes at any time. Our privacy notice explains what we keep, why and for how long.
6. Chaperones and conduct
You're welcome to bring someone with you, or ask us to arrange a chaperone. We may end an appointment or decline further treatment if a patient is abusive or threatening to staff or other patients.
7. Complaints
If you're unhappy with anything about your care, please tell us first: speak to your practitioner, or email Marcus Hale as clinic director at clinic@example.com. We'll acknowledge your complaint within three working days and give you a full reply within 14 days.
If you're not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the British Acupuncture Council, which sets the standards both practitioners are bound by and can investigate complaints about its members. British Acupuncture Council
