Websites for acupuncturists, and help with what comes after
I'll build your practice a website in your name, starting with a free draft. After that, if you'd like, I'll show you each month whether it's bringing patients in and help you get more.
Or email eddspencer@gmail.com. Your website address, or your name and town, is all I need.
What often gets in the way on practice websites
These aren't failures of the practitioner. They come from templates built for any business, not for yours.
- Prices are hard to findFees are one of the first things new patients look for. When they're tucked under a menu, people often give up.
- Booking is three taps too farOn a phone, the button to book or call should be on every page.
- It doesn't look like youTemplate photos of stones and orchids say little about your room, your manner or your town.
- Your training deserves to be seenYour BAcC membership and qualifications reassure people, so they belong where people will notice them.
- You're paying rent for itMany site builders charge monthly for life, and you lose the site if you stop.
- Nobody tells you if it's workingFew site builders show you how many people visit, or how they found you.
Your website, without the big bill
A practice website is a handful of simple pages, and hosting pages like that is free. Your only running cost is your domain name, about £10 a year.
The draft is free. If you like it, it goes live for a one-off £150, or for nothing if you join the monthly plan, which then runs for at least a year. Either way the site is in your name and stays yours.
- Four to six pages: home, treatments, fees, about, contact. Written with you, in your words.
- Booking that suits you: a button to whichever online booking system you already use, or tap-to-call and a short enquiry form if you book by phone.
- Moving from your old site, with your old page addresses pointed at the new ones, so Google and returning patients still find you.
- A privacy notice, and a cookie banner if your site needs one, to help you meet UK data rules.
- Your BAcC membership shown properly, linked to the BAcC register.
- Ready for Google from day one: I'll help you set up or tidy your Google Business Profile, and build the site so Google and AI assistants understand what you do and where.
- It's yours. Your domain stays yours, whether you already have one or I register it for you. It renews automatically, paid straight to the registrar. The hosting is in your name from day one, so if I disappeared tomorrow, your site would keep running.
How it works
You don't decide anything until you've seen a draft of your own site.
- Day 1
A short call
Twenty minutes about your practice and the patients you'd like more of. No obligation.
- Within a week
A free draft
Built from your current site or six short questions. You see it on your own phone.
- Week 2
Two rounds of changes
You approve every word before anything goes live.
- Week 3
Live, and yours
On your own domain, once you've paid the £150 go-live fee or joined the plan. With the plan, your first report arrives a month later.
Two examples
Made-up practices, built to the same standard as a real one and deliberately unlike each other: one warm and personal, one crisp and clinical. Try them on your phone.
Willow Lane Acupuncture: a solo practitioner in a quiet garden room, warm and unhurried
- The first-appointment price is on the home page, not hidden in a menu.
- Book or call from every page, in one tap on a phone.
- It says honestly that acupuncture isn't right for everyone, and when to see a GP. There are no promises about conditions.
These practices aren't real, so they use stock photos. A real site uses photos of you and your room, and I'll help you take them.
Open Willow LaneFenbury Acupuncture Clinic: a two-practitioner general clinic with a clean, clinical look
- Fees, evening hours and the next free appointments sit in one row under the headline, and a call and book bar stays on screen on a phone.
- The most common reasons people come, from back pain to sleep, each saying who the clinic sees and what a session involves, with no promises about results. Fertility and IVF information sits among them without taking over, worded with the ASA's rules in mind.
- Full terms and conditions, a privacy notice and a complaints route through the BAcC, linked from every page, so patients know where they stand before they book.
The monthly plan
£25 a month
Going live is free when you join the plan, which then runs for at least twelve months. After that, cancel with a month's notice.
- A one-page report each month, in plain English: how many people found you, how, and what they read before booking. See a sample report.
- Your Google reviews, watched: each month's report shows your review count and rating against the practices near you, and I draft a reply to every new review for you to post.
- Your site checked every month: the booking button works and still has free appointments over the coming weeks, the contact form arrives, and nothing is broken or out of date. If something breaks, I fix it.
- Up to two small changes a month: prices, times, a photo, a paragraph.
- A check every three months of your Google listing and how you appear when people search for acupuncture in your town.
| Putting your new site live (free if you join the plan) | £150 |
|---|---|
| A local search tune-up: your Google Business Profile, the main directory listings, and advice on getting found for acupuncture in your town | £50 |
| A new page: a specialism, a second practitioner, a page for referring clinics | £50 |
| A small change | £15 |
| A poster, flier or screen ad, with a QR code so you can see how many people it brought | £75 |
| A newsletter from your notes and photos, sent only to people who signed up | £45 |
| An information sheet for clinics that refer to you | £45 |
Your patients, your name, in writing
I never touch patient data
I don't log in to your diary or booking system, and I never handle patient records. The enquiry form sends straight to your inbox and nothing is kept on the way.
Newsletters only to people who asked
Sign-up is an unticked box with a clear purpose, every email has an unsubscribe link, and the list lives in your own account.
Reviews handled fairly
I draft replies for you to check and post yourself. No incentives, and nothing that nudges patients towards five stars.
Claims checked against the ASA's rules
I check anything your site says about conditions or benefits against the ASA's advice for acupuncture and the BAcC's guidance, and flag anything doubtful for you to decide. Nothing goes live without your approval.
Questions people ask
What's the catch?
There isn't a hidden one. The draft is free, and you only pay if you want it to go live: £150 once, or free if you join the monthly plan, which then runs for at least twelve months. Either way the site is in your name and you have full access to everything: the domain, the hosting and the site itself, with your own logins. If you never join the plan, or when you leave it, you keep it all.
Do I need to set anything up?
No. If you already have a domain, you keep it in your own account and I just point it at the new site. If you don't, I can register one in your name, or look after it for you if you'd rather not deal with it. Either way the hosting is in your name, and I send you the logins. You don't need to understand any of it.
Who writes the words?
We do it together. I draft from your current site or a short questionnaire, and you change anything that doesn't sound like you.
Can you get me to the top of Google?
No one can honestly promise that. What I can do is make sure Google has everything it needs to show you to people nearby: a complete business profile, a site that says clearly what you do and where, and reviews from your patients.
What if I already have a website?
We can start from your current site or start fresh, whichever you prefer. If you have pages you like, we keep them. Either way I point your old page addresses at the new ones, so people who find you on Google still land in the right place.
What happens if I stop the plan, or you stop working?
Your site keeps running. If you went live free with the plan, the plan runs for its first twelve months; after that you can stop with a month's notice. When you stop, you get a handover note with every login and a plain guide to changing your prices and opening times yourself.
